Oxyacetylene sets are commonly used for heating and cutting metal but these versatile units also perform a range of metal joining tasks. Oxyacetylene welding has largely been replaced by electric welding but remains a good option for welding very thin metal. Brazing is another useful metal joining process that can be performed using an oxyacetylene welding set. Oxyacetylene sets also perform the useful tasks of cutting think steel and gouging metal in preparation for welding.
