In the past, air tools have been priced well out of the reach of all but trade professionals who could justify their expense.  But in recent years, several budget branded tools have entered the market.  While these are not built to trade standards, they work well and offer the convenience of air-powered tools for much lower price.

Air tools have several advantages over conventional electric power tools.

1. They have more power for their weight
2. There is no risk of electrocution
3. Air tools are smaller than electric power tools
4. Provided they are maintained correctly, air tools are long lasting
5. Output torque is easily adjusted by varying the operating pressure
